The Vari-Safe Bus Access Platform is a purpose-built, OSHA-compliant access system for the safe and productive maintenance of municipal, school, and electric bus fleets — and any other vehicles that need rooftop access. It is modular, mobile, and built to handle daily shop demand.

The platform configures from 10 to 60 feet using combinations of 10ft and 12ft sections, with one to four staircases, and a 750 lb capacity per section. Sections lock together and roll on 8″ x 2″ dual-locking swivel casters — easy to position, stable to work from. Adjustable cross-railings span the vehicle to complement the standard 42″ guardrails, delivering full fall protection across a range of bus tops with no harness needed. Self-draining serrated grip-strut tread on every step and platform provides secure footing in any weather, and rubber bumpers protect the bus finish when the platform is in position.

Standard Bus Access Platform System. 162″ height, 188″ footprint, 432″ length with three 144″ modular sections. 30″ wide grip-strut steps, expandable center crossover at 129¾″.

30-Foot Platform — Two Ladders. Steel and aluminum construction, OSHA compliant, 750 lb capacity per platform, D-bumper on inside edges, spring-loaded swing gates at entry points.

• No harness needed. 42″ standard guardrails plus adjustable cross-railings deliver full fall protection across the bus top. Technicians stay on the platform and stay productive.
• Multi-point access. One through four staircases lets multiple technicians work the same bus at the same time, in and out from any side.
• Spans the full bus. Modular 10ft and 12ft sections lock together to cover everything from a shuttle to an articulated transit bus — HVAC, EV battery, paint, antenna, roof hatches.
• Easy to move, stable to work from. 8″ x 2″ dual-locking swivel casters roll easily and lock tight when positioned. Rubber bumpers protect the fleet’s finish.
• Weather-friendly traction. Self-draining serrated grip-strut tread on steps and platforms means safe footing wet or dry.
• Ships and assembles efficiently. Flat-pack freight, hand-tool assembly, included hardware. Up and running fast without specialized equipment.

Custom — Single-Sided Platform in Service. Designed for shops where dual-side access is not practical. Technician works at height with full fall protection from a one-sided footprint.

Custom — Single-Sided Platform Render. Crew working on roof-mounted equipment from the deployable platform. Deployable fall protection cage extends over the bus top for full perimeter protection from a single-sided footprint.

Custom — Single-Sided w/ Deployable Fall Protection Cage. Aluminum construction, 120″ platform height, articulating cage folds out and pins over the bus top to create an 89.5″ x 137″ protected work zone. Leveling jacks rest on the bus for added stability.

Custom — Bus Wash Platform. Welded steel with galvanized finish for moisture-heavy environments, 105″ platform height, 1,000 lb capacity, 45° safety angle ladder, spring-loaded swing gates. Column design optimized for unobstructed bus access.
